Justice Clarence Thomas was given a $15,000 bust of Lincoln in 2001 by a group for which a friend is a trustee.
it's too bad the times didn't allow comments for this article. if it had, i don't think i would've been the only reader to mention that thomas failed to recuse himself in alpo v ralston purina in 1990, shortly before his supreme court nomination. his close friend and benefactor, senator john danforth, owned a big chunk of ralston.
