••can ye pass the acid test?••

ye who enter here be afraid, but do what ye must -- to defeat your fear ye must defy it.

& defeat it ye must, for only then can we begin to realize liberty & justice for all.

time bomb tick tock? nervous tic talk? war on war?

or just a blog crying in the wilderness, trying to make sense of it all, terror-fried by hate radio and FOX, the number of whose name is 666??? (coincidence?)

liars and hypocrites?

recall when in 2002 congress made a big show of support for keeping "under god" in the pledge of allegiance?

well, i just found out the deck was stacked. here's their oath of office:
"I, A__ B__, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God." (5 U.S.C. 3331.)
those last four words ain't in the constitution, but no atheist would say them, and the rules force them to take that oath to be in congress.

so religionists in congress have excluded atheists from their midst, even tho the constitution says:
no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States. (article vi)
now, that same article also says
This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.
but the members of congress have put their religious beliefs above the law.

that may seem to be an extreme statement, but it's supportable. the evidence is the oath. you've seen the one they actually take. here's what the constitution (article vi again) says
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
clearly they've put their personal beliefs above the constitution. so when they swear or affirm to "bear true faith and allegiance" to the constitution, what in hell do they mean?

can anybody give me a reason—any reason (even a lousy one)—to think this country isn't run by a bunch of liars and hypocrites?
